Vice President of Marketing

Horizon Media Group

555 Business Avenue

San Francisco, CA 94105

Dear Mr. Wilson,

I am writing to formally tender my resignation from my position as Senior Marketing Manager at Horizon Media Group, effective May 15, 2025, which provides the standard four weeks' notice as outlined in my employment contract.

The decision to leave Horizon has been a difficult one, as the past five years have been incredibly rewarding both professionally and personally. I have had the privilege of working with an exceptional team on transformative campaigns that have significantly elevated our clients' market positions while contributing to Horizon's growth and industry recognition.

My time at Horizon has been characterized by tremendous professional development and opportunities. I am particularly grateful for your mentorship and the trust you placed in me when appointing me to lead the digital transformation initiative in 2023. The experience of guiding our department through that organizational change while maintaining client satisfaction was invaluable and has shaped my leadership approach.

I have accepted a position at an international nonprofit organization that aligns closely with my long-term career goals of applying my marketing expertise to mission-driven work. While I am excited about this new chapter, I will genuinely miss the collaborative culture and innovative spirit that defines Horizon Media Group.

Please be assured that I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition during my remaining time with the company. I have prepared a comprehensive handover document outlining all my current projects, client relationships, and ongoing initiatives. Additionally, I would be happy to assist in recruiting and training my replacement to minimize any disruption to the department's operations.

Specifically, I propose the following transition plan:

1.

Documentation Completion (Week 1): Finalize comprehensive documentation for all accounts and projects, including status reports, contact information, and strategic considerations.

2.

Team Briefings (Week 2): Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with team members who will temporarily manage my responsibilities.

3.

Client Transitions (Weeks 2-3): Introduce team members who will be taking over account management to clients, facilitating relationship continuity.

4.

Recruitment Support (Weeks 1-4): Assist HR in defining the job requirements and participate in interviews for my replacement if the search begins during my notice period.

5.

Orientation Development (Week 4): Create an onboarding guide for my successor to ensure a smooth transition after my departure.

I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this transition plan with you and make any adjustments necessary to best serve the team and our clients.

I have greatly valued my time at Horizon Media Group and am proud of what our team has accomplished together. The professional relationships and friendships I've developed here will remain important to me, and I hope to maintain these connections as my career progresses. I will continue to be an advocate for Horizon's exceptional work and company culture.

Thank you for your understanding and support. I am committed to making this transition as seamless as possible and would be grateful for the opportunity to express my appreciation to the broader team before my departure.

Sincerely,

Sarah Martinez
